Choreographic Project with Oscar Flores

The Choreographic Projects programme goes beyond preparing a choreography for a stage. It is a space to develop technique, interpretive tools, teamwork and the care needed for a high-quality artistic production.

Key dates

• December to March: four in-person training meetings.
• April: performances at Orientalísimo Weekend.

Training calendar

The project is built around four in-person meetings, held from December to March, and the performances are presented at Orientalísimo Weekend in April.

The in-person meetings take place at Dansa Alina Babayan, Orientalísimo’s studio in Barcelona’s Eixample district. Discover the studio and how to get there.

• Attend at least three of the four training meetings.
• Use each meeting for technical, artistic and interpretive development as well as learning the choreographies.

Rehearsals and study material

Additional rehearsals will reinforce collective work, choreographic cleaning, formations and the details needed for the stage. Each choreography includes a recorded step-by-step tutorial so participants can prepare before each meeting.

Original creations for the galas

All choreographies are original creations developed specifically for this cast. Participants will form part of two choreographic productions presented during the Orientalísimo Weekend galas.

Artistic direction may adjust casting, positions, formations or other stage elements whenever this supports the best artistic result.

Festival registration, costumes and props

• Participants must hold an Orientalísimo Weekend pack that allows gala participation; joining this project does not replace festival registration.
• Each participant is responsible for the costumes, chosen with accessible options in mind and later adapted for a coherent stage image.
• For the choreography Imperia, the organisation lends the fans; each participant is responsible for their care and return.

Commitment and final participation

Attendance, punctuality, personal study, preparation between meetings and respect for collective work are essential. Anyone who needs to leave the project should notify artistic direction as soon as possible.

Meeting the minimum attendance is necessary, but it does not by itself guarantee a place in the galas. Final participation reflects preparation, rehearsal attendance, technical and artistic development, and integration into the group.

The value of the programme is not only the result on stage, but the path taken to reach it: learning, inspiring one another and creating experiences together that go beyond the performance.
