Create and perform with Ariel Khalih

Orientalísimo Weekend Company brings dancers from different countries together to prepare and perform an original production. It is a commitment to artistic excellence, teamwork and personal growth.

Key dates

• August: first, fully online audition using a dance video already shared on the candidate’s social media.
• September: second selection phase with a choreography prepared by Ariel Khalih, followed by the selection of the twelve Company representatives.
• Late November: first online rehearsal with Ariel Khalih.
• Late January: second online rehearsal with Ariel Khalih.
• In Tarragona: an in-person rehearsal with Ariel Khalih before the festival performances.

Selection process

The first audition takes place online in August. Candidates simply present a dance video already published on their social media, so the artistic direction can assess their technique, presence, musicality and interpretation.

For the second phase in September, Ariel Khalih will prepare a choreography and send it to the selected candidates for them to study and prepare, following the format used last year. The twelve representatives who will form the Company will then be chosen.

Company membership

Company membership costs 300 EUR. It includes the Full Pass and the complete preparation and performance experience with the Company.

• The Full Pass for Orientalísimo Weekend.
• Two online rehearsals with Ariel Khalih.
• Access to the online material to prepare the choreography.
• An in-person rehearsal with Ariel Khalih in Tarragona before the performances.
• Two Company performances in the festival galas.

Members who would also like to perform as soloists will have priority when securing a place in one of the festival galas. This adds 40 EUR for participation and place reservation, including the video recording of the performance.

Full Experience is not required. Members who choose to upgrade can add an individual gala performance and participation in the Welcome Party.

Costume and stage accessories

During the preparation process, Ariel Khalih will provide guidance on the costume style, colours and overall stage image. The group will agree on the final costume from several options that are affordable and suitable for all Company members.

Each Company member is responsible for acquiring their costume and any accompanying accessories or stage elements.

Commitment to the project

Company members commit to preparing the material responsibly, attending the online and in-person rehearsals, and collaborating actively with the ensemble to bring the original production to the Orientalísimo Weekend galas.

Artistic direction may make adjustments to positions, formations or other stage elements whenever this supports the quality of the final production.
